Getting to the training centre

Our centre is in Rainford, St Helens (WA11 8HP) — roughly 25 minutes from Liverpool city centre and 15 minutes from St Helens town centre, with quick access from the M58, M6 and A570. There is free parking on site, and Rainford railway station is a short walk away for learners travelling by train from Liverpool, Kirkby or Wigan.

On-site training for employers

For teams of six or more it is usually simpler and cheaper for us to come to you. We bring manikins, AED trainers, oxygen and airway kit and all consumables — you provide a room with space for floor-level CPR practice. Courses can be scheduled around shift patterns, including weekends, so your operation keeps running. Certificates are issued through Qualsafe Awards and are valid for three years.

  • St Helens, Rainford and Haydock
  • Wirral, Birkenhead and Bootle

Local first aid training questions

Where are your first aid courses held in Liverpool and Merseyside?

Open courses run at our training centre in Rainford, St Helens (WA11 8HP) — around 25 minutes from Liverpool city centre, with free on-site parking and easy access from the M58, M6 and A570. We also deliver at your own workplace anywhere in Merseyside.

How much does a first aid at work course cost?

Pricing depends on the course and whether you book an individual place or a full on-site group. Send us your headcount and preferred dates and we will quote by return — group bookings at your premises are usually the most cost-effective option for employers.

Which course does my workplace need — EFAW or FAW?

Your employer's first aid needs assessment decides. Lower-risk workplaces with few employees usually need Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day). Higher-risk workplaces, larger teams or sites with significant hazards typically need the full First Aid at Work (3 days). We are happy to talk it through before you book.

Can you train our staff at our own premises?

Yes. We bring all manikins, AED trainers and consumables to you anywhere in Liverpool, St Helens and Merseyside. We just need a room large enough for floor-level CPR practice. On-site delivery avoids travel time and keeps your team on site.

How long is the certificate valid?

All Qualsafe Level 3 workplace first aid certificates are valid for three years. HSE recommends annual refresher training in between, which we can build into your schedule.
